چکیده
Abstract In this paper, we analyse higher-order risky choices by the representative cumulative prospect theory (CPT) decision maker from three alternative reference points. These are status quo, average payout and maxmin. The choice tasks consider in our analysis include binary risks, ones employed experimental literature on higher order risk preferences. We demonstrate that made subject depend point. If point is quo lottery exhibit symmetric risk, there no third reflection effect of but a fourth effect. When point, any or possible dependent upon payoffs. However, under assumption maxmin prudent temperate. addition to these results, reveals CPT can choose combinations second with options differ those other major models risk. contrast theoretical predictions empirical results reported preferences able reconcile some conflicting evidence.

Cumulative prospect theory and imprecise risk
Tversky and Kahneman have worked out an appealing model of decision making under uncertainty, involving rankand sign-dependent utilities. This model, cumulative prospect theory (CPT), as well as related models proposed by other authors, has received wide acclaim. Available information and psychological attitude facing ambiguity jointly determine the subjective likelihood values the decision mak...

abstract: about 60% of total premium of insurance industry is pertained?to life policies in the world; while the life insurance total premium in iran is less than 6% of total premium in insurance industry in 2008 (sigma, no 3/2009). among the reasons that discourage the life insurance industry is the problem of adverse selection. adverse selection theory describes a situation where the inf...
15 صفحه اولRisk Aversion in Cumulative Prospect Theory
This paper characterizes the conditions for risk aversion in cumulative prospect theory where risk aversion is defined in the strong sense of Rothschild and Stiglitz (1970). Under weaker assumptions than differentiability we show that risk aversion implies convex weighting functions for gains and for losses but not necessarily a concave utility function. Also, we investigate the exact relations...
متن کاملAn Axiomatization of Cumulative Prospect Theory for Decision Under Risk
Cumulative prospect theory was introduced by Tversky and Kahneman so as to combine the empirical realism of their original prospect theory with the theoretical advantages of Quiggin’s rank-dependent utility. Preference axiomatizations were provided in several papers. All those axiomatizations, however, only consider decision under uncertainty. No axiomatization has been provided as yet for deci...
متن کاملCumulative prospect theory and gambling
Whilst Cumulative Prospect theory (CPT) provides an explanation of gambling on longshots at actuarially unfair odds, it cannot explain why people might bet on more favoured outcomes. This paper shows that this is explicable if the degree of loss aversion experienced by the agent is reduced for small-stake gambles (as a proportion of wealth), and probability distortions are greater over losses t...
